As good as this mandate sounds to all overtime employees; there are a lot of law violations and implications. The challenge comes to funding this federal mandate. State programs will be subject to trimming. It may also result to increased taxes to fund expensive state budgets. The white-collar exception has already doubled the overtime pay for minimum cutoff salary. A new indexing mechanism that increases after every three years against seems too much. Again, a task which falls under Congress is now being illegally carried out by the presidential administration. This unlawful rule is just another end run around the political process which will cost the constitution, states, private and public sectors. Hopefully, the law suit will succeed to trample this federal overreach.
